On the occasion of National Sports Day (29th August) Department of Physical education, Mangalore University in association with Derik’s Chess School is organising a two day Inter District Level Online Chess tournament for Men and Women on 29th & 30th August 2020 at https://derikschessschool.com .
Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Coorg district players are cordially invited to participate in the tournament. There will be no entry fee for the tournament and total cash prize of Rs.20,000/- will be awarded to the winners.
Rules and regulations:
* The tournament will be held in a 10 round Swiss league format. A player must compete in all the rounds.
*Time Control: 10 minutes each and 5 seconds increment per move.
*The tournament will be hosted in https://derikschessschool.com/
*All participants will be provided with user id to login at least 5 days prior to the tournament.
*Players can use computers/Smartphones/Tablets for playing. Players should use Google Chrome(Most Compatible) to access the website.
*Participants are requested to participate in the trial tournament before the tournament.
*Each player is responsible for their own connection. Organizers are not responsible for a player’s disconnection.
No phone calls/messages will be entertained during the tournament. All queries must be resolved before the

*FIDE standard/rapid rating will be considered for initial seeding.
*The final ranking will be based on total points, Sonnenborn-Berger, Buchholz score, Buchholz tiebreak.
*If any more player is found using assistance software or engine, will be disqualified and the result will be

*The final ranking will be published 48 hrs after the completion of tournament and game reviews.
